Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi has been thrown out as the Chair of Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) Caucus of 47 Women Representatives.
The legislator was accused of handing out bribes on Thursday, August 9 to other members so as to shoot down the sugar report that could have indicted CS Treasury Henry Rotich, EAC’s Adan Mohammed and former Agriculture CS Willy Bett.
The Women members say that the Wajir legislator tarnished their names.
According to Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, Ms Gedi was trying to protect CS Adan while three other MPs handed out paltry payments of between Sh10,000 and Sh30,000 to protect Treasury CS.

Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba while speaking in Thika said that the legislators who received bribes did so in the National Assembly toilets.
But Ms Gedi has since denied the allegations saying that it was shameful that individuals making hundreds of thousands could be compromised with a meager Sh10,000.
“I’m really shocked by the allegation levelled against me by some MPs that I tried to comprised them with sh 10,000. That’s a blatant lie, unfounded and malicious at every sense of the word. That claim is a disgrace to the respected House members and the Parliament at large,” she said.
